Well, I am headed back tomorrow, unless force majeur extends my vacation with volcanic winds. Tonight, I went to D’Gor for a sunset dinner to check out the surf. Unfortunately, I did not make it out myself. The trip has been incredible. Sequel coming soon.

Dakar – Youssou N’Dour Live au Theatre Daniel Serrano

Tsukiji fish market, Angkor, Bhutan, Taj Mahal, Pyramids of Giza and now Youssou N’dour live in Dakar. My trip is complete. Here is a video of Youssou’s Entrance , excerpt of the classic Birima and some speedy Mbalax.

Dakar – Ile De Goree

After sleeping in due to last night’s concert (here is another video http://bit.ly/casJex ), I headed into town, bought my Youssou N’Dour ticket, and took the ferry to Ile de Goree. Goree is a strategic island off of Dakar that has served many purposes, most notably and sadly, it was the point of embarkation for the Senegalese slave trade. The island is beautiful and well with the visit, especially to see the Masion des Esclaves (House of Slaves).
